Physics?

4.20AB) The graph shows the horizontal speed V of a long jumper from the start of his run to the time when he reached the take-off board.

BW: a) Use the graph to estimate his maximum acceleration.
b) Use the graph to estimate the distance of the 'run-up'.

4.21AB) The diagram shows a mass attached a mass attached by a piece of string to a glider which is free to glide along an air track.

BW: A student finds that the glider takes 1.13 s to move a distance of 90cm starting from rest.

a) Calculate the speed of the glider after 1.13s.
b) Calculate its average acceleration during this time.
c) How would you test whether or not the acceleration of the glider is constant?

4.22AB) Demonstrate that the following equation is homogeneous with respect to units. The symbols have their usual meanings.

x= ut - 1/2at2

The following graph shows the soeed v of a body during a time interval of just over 3 seconds.

BW: a) Use the graph to determine the magnitude of the acceleration a.
b) Find the distance travelled by the body between t=6 s and t=8 s.
